Senior fitness at Peak Fitness
Get fit, have fun and make new friends through the Senior Fitness program at Peak Fitness. We accept Renew Active, Silver and Fit and SilverSneakers® as part of our senior program. We offer a variety of classes both in the traditional group fitness environment. The focus of our classes it to help you with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), do you ever have trouble climbing stairs, carrying bags or boxes, standing up from a seated position, opening a jar or turning around to see when you back up your car? Our specifically designed classes can help you maintain or in some cases, regain lost mobility, strength and balance. senior fitness Class Descriptions
CLASSIC
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, rand of motion and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneaker® ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
Chair YOGA
Move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
gym orientation
This class is especially geared towards exercisers aged 59 and above. You will learn how to use the strength training machines, some free weights and cardio equipment. Weight training helps to improve muscular strength, balance and builds bone mass. These, in turn, will enhance the activities of daily living. It’s never too late to start strength training!
